OAKFIELD – Peter Cullinan, 80, died March 20, 2013, at his home. He was born March 14, 1933, in Houlton, son of Joseph and Evelyn (Appleby) Cullinan.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during Korea. Peter retired from Georgia Pacific after 27 years and was a 50-year member of the Frank B. Holden Post No. 52, Oakfield. He dearly loved his family and working.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Alice (Crandall) Cullinan of Oakfield; children, Danette Barrows and husband, Danny, of Oakfield, Diana Betschner and husband, Robert, of Dyer Brook, Peter Cullinan and wife, Nikki, and Jill White and husband, Brad, all of Oakfield; six grandchildren, Amanda and Jay Burpee, Jeremy and Anis Barrows, Shaun Barrows, Robert Jr. and Chelsay Betschner, Lindsay White and Trenton Cullinan; 16 great-grandchildren; siblings, Jennie Crandall of Raynham, Mass., and Roy Cullinan of Oakfield; brother-in-law, Mark Clemans of Milford Center, Ohio; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Christie; two sisters, Anne Pelkey and Mary Clemans.
Friends called 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 22, at Bowers Funeral Home, Sherman Street, Island Falls, where funeral services were held 1 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Sterling Lawrence officiating. Spring interment will be at Oakfield Cemetery.
