HOULTON — Houlton High School will be hosting a “Jail and Bail” fundraiser for the Houlton/Hodgdon Dollars for Scholars. Family members, employers and other community members are encouraged to participate.
Warrants for the arrest of students, staff, and parents may be purchased during the week of March 18 to the March 22 in the Guidance office. We hope to have all warrants issued early so we can confirm that the individuals agree to be arrested. However, as people get into the fun, we know there may be others who wish to purchase warrants. Since the goal is to raise scholarship money, warrants issued the day of the arrest will be charged a late fee of $1.
Arrest warrants for adults will cost $20; student warrants will cost $5.
Arrests will take place Wednesday March 27 and Thursday, March 28. Once arrested, the prisoners may call people to raise pledges (their bail money). They may also beg passers by to donate to their cause. Students and teachers will be in jail before and after school, during study halls and free time, advisory, prep periods and lunch. They will be temporarily released to attend classes.
Photos of the prisoners may be available for purchase by family to post or to stop posting.
Dollars for Scholars benefits Houlton and Hodgdon graduating seniors. Applications are available in the Guidance office.
