Community center update
To the editor:
People are asking where we are with the new community center.
The core committee consisting of Lucy and Steve Richard, Kevin Sipe, Mike Chasse, AJ Cloukey, with support from city staff, Jim Bennett, Martin Puckett, Chris Beaulieu and Sonja Morgan-Plummer, have been meeting on a regular basis. On March 25, we will be meeting with a potential company that we hope to engage to help us with our fund-raising campaign.
The core committee is very excited and enthusiastic about the project, but we want to make sure that when we roll it out, we do it in a professional manner. At our last meeting on Feb. 19, we explored various taglines that we might be using for the campaign. We plan to keep the community updated as this project moves along.
