CARY – Peter L. Knapp, 62, passed away February 13, 2013, at a Portland hospital with his family by his side, after a brief illness. He was born July 25, 1950, at Houlton, the son of Halson and Charlotte (Getchell) Knapp.
Peter worked as a carpenter and an over-the-road truck driver for many years. More recently, he worked for Nickerson Construction which he said was the best job he ever had. He was a strong caring man who was well liked by all who knew him, and will be sadly missed.
Peter is survived by his wife, Barbara (Boyd) Knapp; his son, Peter Knapp and his wife, Anna of Kuala Lumpur, Malasia; his daughter, Michelle of Houlton; five very special grandsons, Devan Dow and Craig Dow, Aleksey, Aleksandr and Darien Knapp; four brothers, Jimmy, Jerry, Jack and Billy; three sisters, Daisy, Jane and Sue; several nieces and nephews; several sisters- and brothers-in-law; as well as many, many friends. He was predeceased by his parents, brother, Sonny and sister, Janet.
