to be available through WHOU website

    HOULTON — Northern Maine Media Inc, the home of WHOU 100.1 FM, has secured the exclusive contract with the Maine Principals’ Association to video stream the 24 games of the Eastern Maine Class B, C and D basketball quarterfinals from the Bangor Auditorium.

    The quarterfinals will be broadcast live online at www.whoufm.com starting this Friday, Feb. 15 through Wednesday morning, Feb. 20.

    This year will be the first that the MPA has allowed for a video streaming broadcast of the quarterfinals.

    Veteran play-by-play announcer Ken Holck will be joined by Tim Tweedie and Rob Moran, the regular announcers on WHOU, while Marty Bouchard will handle the floor reporting and interviews for all games.

    Also joining the broadcast team for the quarterfinals will be Kevin Sjoberg and Bob Russell from WEGP radio and Time Warner Cable Sports, Jenna Callari from WAGM-TV, Bob Beatham of Bangor and Amanda Gifford of Husson University.

    After the quarterfinals are complete, television and online streaming of the semifinals and finals will be done on MPBN-TV, which begins it coverage Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 20.

    WHOU 100.1 FM and whoufm.com will continue to broadcast all games involving Aroostook County teams in the semifinals and finals.

    Also providing coverage of Aroostook County teams throughout the tournament will be 101.9 FM The Rock and 1019therock.com, with announcers Dave DeMerchant and Mike Cote; WEGP 1390 AM and wegp.net, with announcers Jim Carter, Kurt Bates, Russell and Sjoberg; and Channel X Radio — WCXU 97.7 FM (Caribou), WCXV (Van Buren) 98.1 and WCXX 102.1 FM (Madawaska).
