Bears beat Panthers

Congratulations to our Easton Bears for a great win over Mars Hill last week. It was a huge win for Easton. I believe it has been 11 years since Easton has beat the Panthers on the basketball court. Mars Hill played a very good game also. But it sure felt great beating them. I was told that Bears have never beat Mars Hill in that gym. Go Bears! We are very proud of all of you. Keep up the good work and we will see you all in Bangor.

Sympathy

Our deepest sympathy goes out to the Beaton family who lost two members of their family last week. Our community is deeply saddened by this loss. Our prayers are with you all.

Hafford recognized

Jared Hafford was named Player of the Game by WOZI radio station last week at Mars Hill. Easton won over Mars Hill for the first time in 11 years. Congratulations, Jared, for a fantastic game. We are very proud of you.

The Easton Alumni held a meeting in the Easton Elementary School cafeteria on Tuesday, February 5.

Happy Days Club

The Easton Happy Days Senior Club met on Jan. 24 at the Manor. Thirteen members were present. The Nominating Committee consisted of: Marie Hewitt, Arlene Ladner and Ezalee Smith. Our new officers for the coming year are: President Nina Trask, Vice President Elizabeth Martin, Secretary Ezalee Smith and Treasurer Ida Doak. A big thank you to the Nominating Committee and a sincere congratulations to the new officers. Our next meeting will be held on Thursday, Feb. 14. We will have Steve Farnham, the executive director of Aroostook Area Agency on Aging, as our speaker. He is very interesting and informative in helping all our senior citizens. All Easton seniors 55 and above are welcome to come and join us and encouraged to bring a friend.

Project Graduation

The Project Graduation Committee has Easton Bear magnets for your car or refrigerator at home for sale. The magnets are $5 each and can be purchased from any senior parent or at the local Country Farms Market. Your support for Project Grad is greatly appreciated. Also they are selling Little Ceasar’s Pizzas. These are great for a quick and easy supper or snack.
