To the editor:
On behalf of all Animal Control Officers, I would like to take this time to thank all the pet or animal owners out there who were so extra vigilant and very responsible when it came to their animals in our extremely cold temps we recently had. We will most likely have extremely cold temps again and have confidence most owners will again take care of their extended family members but also ask that you be vigilant again for others. Always remember a good rule of thumb, if it only takes 10 minutes for frostbite to affect us then it may take only five minutes for your pet.
One other reminder for all dog owners. If you haven’t registered your dogs yet, you are now overdue. Registering your dog is cheaper than paying a fine from a summons.
