Tamlin Nehls Quass

QUASS, Tamlin Nehls, 62, MAPLETON, January 21, 2013. A graveside service will be announced later in the Spring. Arrangements are in the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, Presque Isle.

    MAPLETON – Tamlin Nehls Quass, 62, died unexpectedly of heart disease at home in Mapleton on January 21, 2013. He was born April 29, 1950, in Presque Isle, the son of Harold R. and Dorothy King Quass.
    Tam graduated from Presque Isle High School in 1968 and attended Unity College. He was employed by several auto parts businesses over the years.
    Tam enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching wildlife and birds, cooking, storytelling and road trips. A true friend to many folks, Tam also took special care of several dogs throughout his life.
    He is survived by his partner and beloved companion, Vickie Tompkins of Mapleton; his father, Harold Quass; and sister, Paula Dunfee, both of Castine; his nieces, Heather Dunfee of Westfield, Mass., and Bethany Dunfee Pierce of Freeport, and their families. He was predeceased by his mother, Dorothy Quass of Presque Isle.
    A graveside service will be announced later in the Spring.
