FS-LagasseArrest-AR-5CARIBOU — Caribou police have arrested a second man in connection with a Jan. 3 home invasion at an Access Highway residence.

Police said Monday that their investigation led them to arrest former Caribou resident Chad Lagasse, 26, on Jan. 20 after Lagasse was pulled over in a car he was driving. At that time, police found him to be in possession of more than 100 oxycodone pills with a street value of $8,000.

Police did not say what evidence led them to arrest Lagasse in connection with the home invasion, but he was charged with armed robbery, theft, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, aggravated trafficking in Schedule W drugs and falsifying physical evidence. Lagasse’s bail was set at $25,000 cash and he was taken to Aroostook County Jail in Houlton.

Another suspect, Eric Mowatt, 25, of Limestone, was apprehended and charged shortly after the home invasion.

According to police, the two suspects allegedly entered the Access Highway home in disguise, brandished handguns and demanded money. An adult and child were present at the residence at the time, but were not injured. The two men got away with an undisclosed amount of cash and several other items.

The investigation was conducted by Caribou police officers Matthew Cummings and Keith Ouellette.
