In addition to promoting the arts, the Southern Aroostook Cultural Arts Project has been involved in helping raise awareness about issues that affect the local communities. An upcoming project titled, “The Gift of Adoption,” will focus on families that have adopted children.
An opening reception is scheduled for Feb. 8 from 5-7 p.m. The displays will remain at Visions until March 20. This event will also help to raise awareness about children still waiting to be adopted into a permanent family.
Visions is located at 66 Main St. in Houlton. The gallery is open Tuesday to Friday from noon to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. While the focus of SACAP is local they also maintain a website (www.sacap.us) that can be visited by people from all over the world.
