Let Automotive Solutions
solve your car problems
PRESQUE ISLE — Take the guesswork out of solving your car’s mechanical problems by taking your vehicle to the newest repair shop in town, Automotive Solutions.

RYAN STEVENS has opened Automotive Solutions on Airport Drive in Presque Isle, offering a wide variety of mechanical services for both domestic and foreign-made automobiles. Here, he uses a computer to perform diagnostic tests on a vehicle.
Owner Ryan Stevens incorporates the latest in technology and often can determine what the problem is by simply connecting a vehicle to a computer, running diagnostic programs that can determine a variety of mechanical issues. Using that information, he then can take the steps necessary to get your ride running smoothly and get you back on the road as quickly as possible.
Located at 80 Airport Drive, the shop is large enough to accommodate about four automobiles and includes two lift systems. Stevens, a native of Presque Isle and graduate of Presque Isle High School, said he’s pleased to be able to serve friends and family so close to home.
“That’s the driving factor behind my shop being located here — friends and family are here. I studied automotives at Northern Maine Community College and worked for auto dealerships from here to Hawaii. I can work on domestic or foreign, old or new,” said Stevens, noting he’s studied a lot in order to get where he is today.
Stevens’ dream of owning his own business has been several years in the making. He first went to Northern Maine Development Commission and Aroostook Partnership for Progress in 2008 seeking assistance and advice on how to start his own shop. Working with Rod Thompson, Stevens came up with a business plan in 2010 that fit his needs. He said it was a matter of finding something he loved and finding a way to make it a career opportunity.
Stevens’ love of cars began at a nearly age, with some of his earliest memories dating back to childhood and family outings to Spud Speedway. He’s since become a driver, winning several trophies over the years.
“To be a good driver, you need a good car. To build a good car, you need to know how to put one together. I enjoy working on cars and racing’s fun,” said Stevens, who’s busy working on his next project. “I’m putting together a 1992 BMW — turning it into a racecar.”
He said the shop helps him continue to pursue his dream of racing.
“I like to race cars but in order to do that I have to have a means of supporting my dream. That’s where the shop comes in. That’s my motivation to succeed,” said Stevens.
The business opened June 1, 2012 and offers a wide range of automotive services, from simple oil changes and tire rotations to more in-depth projects such as engine repairs and wiring issues.
“Ed Barnes, an automotive technician, and I are looking forward to helping customers with all their automotive concerns,” said Stevens. “We push quality here. Our goal is customer satisfaction.”
Business hours are by appointment. For more information, call 551-3435. You can also check out the business on Facebook. Stevens said social media is becoming an important factor in today’s business world.
“People lead busy lives. I encourage people to contact me via Facebook. I’ve had several customers who’ve contacted me either while in class or somewhere else where they couldn’t make a call, but they could send me a text or Facebook message. You can check in via the site and receive a discount off your repair,” said Stevens.
“It’s about customer convenience and quality service. Automotive Solutions offers both.”
