First baby arrives at HRH

FIRST BABY OF THE YEAR — Hayden James McGraw was the first baby born at Houlton Regional Hospital for 2013. He is the son of Alisha Majkowski and Wyatt McGraw. He joins big brother Chase.
    HOULTON —Hayden James McGraw made his debut at Houlton Regional Hospital as the 2013 New Year’s baby.
    Alisha Majkowski, daughter of Karen Majkowski and Mark Majkowski, and Wyatt McGraw, son of Marion Salmon and David McGraw, added their second son to their family at 3:16 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 3.
    Big brother Chase was checking out his little brother, who weighed in at 8 pounds, 12 ounces and was 20 inches long.
    Hayden was anxious to be born, as he was due on Jan. 7. He is named after one of his father’s good friends and his middle name is in memory of his father’s great uncle who passed away.
    The staff at the hospital presented the couple with a basket of items for having the first baby of 2013 at HRH.
    The nursing staff, employees of the hospital and local businesses (TD Bank, County Federal Credit Union and Bangor Savings Bank) donated all items in the basket, which featured books, bibs, blankets and other items for the newborn.
    Hayden’s great-grandparents are from Millinocket, while his maternal grandparents are from Mt. Chase and his paternal grandparents Island Falls.
