CARIBOU — Wilmer A. Belanger, 52, died unexpectedly December 10, 2012 at a local hospital. He was born in Presque Isle, November 6, 1960, the son of Joseph and Julia (Ambrose) Belanger. Mr. Belanger was a 1979 graduate of Ashland High School and shortly after he enlisted in the US Army. Mr. Belanger attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church and was a member of the Smart Ricker Post 10 DAV. He married Paula Boucher April 27, 1990.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Paula of Caribou; and his mother, Julia of Presque Isle; are a son, Jeffrey Belanger and his fiancé, Amber Arabia of Rochester, N.H.; a brother, Alvin Belanger of Presque Isle; two sisters, Peggy Gilmer and Kathy Belanger and her significant other, Jim Ayotte all of Presque Isle; four step-brothers, Steve Doustou of Alaska, Chuck Doustou of Portland, Eddie Doustou of Saco and Rick Doustou of Portland; one granddaughter, Ryleigh Rose Belanger; and two step-grandaughters, Jayanna and Hannah Earle. Mr. Belanger was predeceased by his father and a brother, Lewis.
Friends called at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou, 6-8 p.m. Thursday. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated 11 a.m. Friday, December 14, 2012, from the Parish of the Precious Blood, Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Fr. Emile Dube, officiating. Interment was in the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery.
