Northern Maine Chamber Society presents ‘Greet the Sounding Joy’ Christmas concert

    Opening their 2012/2013 season, NMCS will present a joyful concert Saturday, Dec. 8 at the Houlton Wesleyan Church at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 9 in Presque Isle at the UMPI Campus Center at 2 p.m.
    The orchestra will be led by guest conductor Kevin Kinsey of Fort Fairfield. Featured on the program will be works by Beethoven, Strauss and Shostakovich. Highlights include “A Christmas Festival” arranged by Leroy Anderson, “Fiddle Like the Dickens” arranged by Tim McCarrick and a clarinet duet by our members Larry Berz and Sean Diette.
   This is a great opportunity to start young families attending classical/semi-classical live orchestra performances. Admission is free, donations accepted. For information, call 532-6840 or 473-7698.
