MacKinnon named player of year

Josh MacKinnon was named defensive player of the year and two University of Maine at Presque Isle teammates joined him on the All-Independent Men’s Soccer Team.

The announcement was made last week by the Association of Division III Independents.

MacKinnon, a senior goalkeeper from Linsmore, Nova Scotia, allowed 2.7 goals per game and provided outstanding leadership for the Owls.

Making the first team with MacKinnon was junior midfielder Jeremy Tarr of Ashland.

Selected to the second team as a defender was Owl junior Lucas Bartlett.
