FORT FAIRFIELD — The Fort Fairfield Fire Department — part of Aroostook Fire Protection District 1 — like many other fire departments throughout the state, is in need of individuals to fill vacancies. The FFFD is currently seeking applicants to serve as paid call firefighters and junior firefighters.

Individuals will work under the direct supervision of the captains or lieutenants, serving as crew members in responding to fires, medical emergencies and other hazardous incidents. Firefighters will respond on a per-call basis and will be assigned to one of three companies.

Qualified applicants must be at least 18 years of age, live in the community or an acceptable response distance, have a Maine license, satisfactory driving history, among other qualifications.

For more information, visit the Aroostook Fire Protection District 1 Facebook page and click on the ‘notes’ section. A Fort Fairfield Fire Department official employment application must be submitted and can be provided in person at the fire station, 18 Community Center Drive, or by e-mail to: AroostookFireDist1@gmail.com.
