Aroostook River Voices
to hold concert Sunday

The fall concert of the Aroostook River Voices will be held Sunday, Nov. 25 at 2 p.m. in the Ashland District School auditorium. There will be some special and unique changes that will be apparent during this concert.
Since Sarah Diette, a district music teacher who has always performed with the group is on maternity leave, she will not be available for this concert. Shari Ward, a district math teacher and talented musician, has agreed to join in and conduct three of the songs in this concert. Another unexpected change is the addition of many vocalists from the surrounding area. The audience can expect a wide variety of musical styles with lots of varied instrumental accompaniments.
This program will be the first attempt at singing two selections without a keyboard accompaniment. One of those songs will be sung in Latin and features an antiphonal double quartet! Even though the group was unable to perform closer to Veterans Day, a patriotic selection will be presented with special dedications.
There will be a reception with refreshments following the concert in the cafeteria. Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend.
The Aroostook River Voices are sponsored by the Ashland Area Alumni Association.
Ashland Fire Department thanks community
The Ashland Fire Department would like to thank the patrons who supported their annual hunters breakfast. They would also like to extend a “big thank you” to all of the volunteers and merchants who donated door prizes and baked goods. The breakfast was a huge success once again because of the support the department receives.
