These three little kittens haven’t lost their mittens, but they are looking for a new home. Halfway Home Pet Rescue (HHPR) volunteers bottle fed these kittens along with nine others to assist the young mother cat who, with her own five babies, also took on the care of seven orphaned kittens. “Only this one young momma cat was found with the kittens and little Princess worked her heart out along with several HHPR volunteers to keep the kittens warm, safe and well fed,” said HHPR President Norma Milton. Now 9 weeks old, the kittens are ready to love their new families. They have been wormed, received their first distemper shots and have been given a parasite prevention treatment, plus they will have a spay voucher for when they are old enough for surgery. Their adoption fee is $55. In other HHPR news, a young domestic short-hair, gray/white, cuddly female with a flea collar was found wandering around Superior Drive this week, and was trying to get someone to take her into their home; HHPR volunteers have named her Annie. A young white female cat with tiger patches and gray/brown beauty mark on the right side of her nose was found wandering on Fort St. and Birdseye Ave., in Caribou, and volunteers have named her Sara. Please call 999-1075 if you think one of these cats might be your family member. The Free Pet Food Pantry will be closed until further notice. “When food is available, we will contact those on our list in the greatest need,” Milton explained. “If you do not receive a call, it means that no food is available for you at this time.” Adoption events are scheduled every Saturday afternoon from noon to 3 p.m. For more information on the pet rescue activities, please call Mary Rowe at 999-1075.
