WASHBURN — A local man was injured Oct. 30 when he lost control of his vehicle on Main Street and collided with a utility pole.

“Tyler Farley, 22, of Washburn, was driving northbound in his 2000 Ford sedan when he veered from the road, striking a utility pole. He was traveling alone with his dog when the accident occurred,” said Washburn Police Chief Doug Conroy. “The driver told me he wasn’t sure what happened.”

The accident occurred around 11:40 a.m. Farley was transported by Crown Ambulance to The Aroostook Medical Center for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.

“The car was totaled. Crews from Maine Public Service responded to replace the pole,” said Conroy.

The car was towed from the scene by B.C. Auto Towing of Presque Isle.

A crew from the Washburn Fire Department also assisted.
