    The Houlton Recreation Department offers the following November activities.
    Pinata Making for children will be held tomorrow from 3:30-5:30 p.m. for grades preK-6. Paula Dahlk of Mainely Pinata will instruct the children on how to make their Pilgrim Hat Pinata. Cost for the activity is $20 and each child will take home their finished Pinata.
    Youth can participate in the Fowl Shooting Contest to win a Thanksgiving Day turkey. The first-ever “Fowl” Shooting Contest at the Houlton Recreation Department will be held on Saturday, Nov. 17. Times are as follows: 9 a.m. for grades 3-5; 10 a.m. for grades 6-8 and 11 a.m. for grades 9-12. Each participant will get 10 free throws plus three additional “Bonus Fowl Shots.” Cost is $5 to participate with all proceeds going to the Community Playground Improvement Project. Register by Nov. 14 at 532-1310.
    The Houlton Winter Crafts and Gifts Fair will be held on Friday, Nov. 23 and Saturday, Nov. 24 at the Gentle Memorial Building. New times for both days at the fair this year are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This annual holiday event is free to all that attend. There will be more than 50 different exhibitors displaying their crafts.
