HOULTON – Richard M. “Dick” Albright Sr., 77, passed away quietly Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, at the camp he called home on Pleasant Pond in Island Falls. He was born May 3, 1935, in Houlton, son of Frederick A. and Eltie (Estabrook) Albright.
He was a member of National Rifle Association and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was an avid sportsman; hunting and fishing were two of his favorite pastimes. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, stationed in several countries throughout the course of his career including India, Laos, Thailand, France, China, Vietnam, as well as several other locations in and out of the U.S.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dianna A. Bishop; son, Richard M. Albright Jr. of Houston; three stepchildren, Floyd Shields Jr. and wife, Karen, of Ocala, Fla., Angelique I. Margison and Victor of Houlton, and Adam L. Shields of Houlton; stepgrandchildren, Sara J. Shields of North Carolina, Curtis R. Shields and Joseph A. Shields, both of Ocala, Fla.; great-grand-children, Aiden B. Shields of North Carolina and Emma Shields of Ocala, Fla.; siblings, Elizabeth G. McGrath of Randolph, Mass., Iona G. Forbes of Caribou, Eugene H. Albright of New Limerick and Alicia M. Hoyt of Billings, Mont.; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; and brothers, Leroy E. Bubar, Frederick E. Farrar and Leslie E. Farrar.
