The Houlton Recreation Department will be offering two new sessions of fitness classes.
All classes require a registration by Nov. 7, by calling 532-1310.
The classes being offered will run for eight weeks and they are as follows:
Zumba – This class will be held each Tuesday and Thursday at 6:15 p.m. starting on Nov. 8. Lura Griffin is the instructor for this Latin-inspired, dance fitness class. The class format combines fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body in an aerobic/fitness fashion.
Cost is $40 for Houlton residents and $60 for non-Houlton residents. Participants should wear sneakers and comfortable clothes.
PiYo- This class will begin on Thursday, Nov. 8. Classes will be held each Tuesday and Thursday at 5 p.m.
Yvonne Hyman will be the instructor for this Yoga and Pilates inspired low-impact workout. Upbeat music and rhythmic movements burn calories, build muscle, sculpt and tone, while adding flexibility.
Cost will be $40 for Houlton residents and $60 for non-Houlton residents. Participants should bring their own mat and wear comfortable clothes. Hand weights are optional.
