WASHBURN — A trailer was damaged Sept. 20 when a fire ignited in some combustible materials in the home.

“At 8:05 p.m. a fire broke out at a mobile home owned by Stacy Griffin at 1451 Washburn Rd.,” said Fire Chief Troy Heald, Washburn Fire Department.

Heald said the resident was home to two adults.

“A male and female were provided housing through the Red Cross,” said Heald.

One occupant was injured as a result of the blaze.

“The male resident suffered minor burns on his hands and was attended to by Crown Ambulance personnel at the scene,” said Heald.

Firefighters were able to save the home by containing the fire to one end of the structure.

“The fire was contained to the kitchen area of the home but smoke damage prevented the residents from staying there,” said Heald.

The WFD was assisted at the scene by the Washburn Police Department and Maine Public Service.

No estimate of damage was available on the older-model mobile home.
