MAPLETON – With great gratitude in our hearts, we celebrate the life of Ronald “Ronnie” Gamblin. This “courer de bois” found peace in the woods and rooted his love of this earth at Sleepy Hollow where he made his home. Together with his wife, Bernadette, he tended the land, raised a family and created heaven on earth. Together they nurtured one another and grew the garden of their spirits. The twinkle in Ronnie’s eyes touched the hearts of many in our community and his gifts of wisdom and service live on in those who remember his honesty and kindness.

Ronnie will be missed by many and remembered most by his beloved wife of forty years, Bernadette; his children, Rhonda, Jimmy, Nicole, Joshua and Anthony; daughters-in-law, Donna and Katie; his brothers and sisters, Linda and Clay, Harriet, Billy and Dolores, Sheila, Jerry, Roger, and Brenda and Al; grandchildren, Leona, Francesca, Michael, Zoe and Phoebe; great-granddaughter, Mercedes; and his life-long friend, Fernald Garland.

Ronnie joins his son, Ron Jr.; and his father and mother, Vincent Rupert and Rella on the great journey of spirit.

There are many not named here who hold a special place in our hearts for the loving kindness they have shown to our friend and father, Ron. May his spirit be free in God and full of love. We love you Dad and support your journey.

A memorial service was held at St. Mary’s Parish of the Precious Blood in Presque Isle on Monday, October 1, 2012, at 10 a.m. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.duncan-graves.com.
