Specialist Kyle Thomas, right, received the Army Achievement Medal for meritorious service at Annual Training in Caswell. He is assigned as a 12N heavy equipment operator for the 185th Engineer Support Company located in Caribou. Thomas, a native of Houlton, is the son of Kathy and Fran Bartley of Houlton. Thomas is a 2005 graduate of Houlton High School and has been serving as a member of the Army National Guard since February of 2007. With Thomas is Capt. Michael Gary, commander of the 185th.
