ASHLAND — The Maine Education Association (MEA) has endorsed Dan Levesque for State Senate in Maine’s 34th District.
The MEA is a unified, democratic professional organization advocating for its 25,000 members while inspiring them to be leaders in the educational process. They advocate for their members by influencing government policies, building community support for public education, expanding educational employees’ rights and promoting improvements in working conditions. MEA is an affiliate of the National Education Association.
Levesque said, “I am honored to have earned the support of the Maine Education Association. I look forward to working together to protect and improve all of Maine’s public schools.”
Levesque was employed in the lumber industry for over 35 years. He worked with his family’s lumber business, Levesque Lumber, which was later bought by Fraser Papers. In 2001, Levesque became Vice President of Lumber Divisions US and Canada. After 10 years with Fraser Papers, he became the owner and operator of an Internet provider company and office supply store in Presque Isle.
He is married to Kathy Levesque, and they have three children.
