Caribou rec soccer wrap-up

Summaries of Caribou Parks and Recreation Department soccer games played Sept. 10 and 12 are as follows:

Revolution vs. Galaxy

The Revolution and Galaxy teams played in a good match with lots of hustle demonstrated from both teams. Ari Plante played great in goal for team Galaxy. Lexi Heidorn controlled the offense for team Revolution. Other notable players that played great in the game from both teams were Carter Belanger, Sage Dubay, Diego Fleury, Brevin Barnes, Riley Bouchard and Hannah Tarbox.

Red Bulls vs. Timbers

The Red Bulls offense was clicking on all cylinders with Ethan Holdsworth, Sawyer Deprey, Jordan Duplissie and Hunter Stubbs all finding the net. Assists were awarded by Destinee Goodridge, Kaden DeMerchant, Avery Knowles, Tyler Seaman, Kaylyn Kouhoupt and Jack Doody.

The Timbers were shut out on the scoreboard but not for a lack of effort. Solid outings were turned in by Cody Martin, Matt Smith and Malachai Willey on both ends of the field. Ciah Bernard, Abby St. Peter and Mia Theriault helped out with solid defense.

Revolution vs. Timbers

The Timbers got a late goal from Caleb Espling (unassisted) to keep close but they were unable to get the tying goal before time ran out. Jaedon Jones, Matt Smith, Ryan Austin and Lauren Craig all made contributions and showed good hustle to help keep their team in the game. Corey Herbert, Colin Poitras and Caleb Espling all helped keep up the pressure offensively throughout the game. Malachai Willey was sharp in his debut as goaltender. Lexi Heidorn had another great game for the Revs. Naomi Cote and Liam Martin played hard on defense to keep the game in favor for the Revolution team.

Red Bulls vs. Galaxy

Ethan Holdsworth had a hat trick for the Red Bulls with assists coming from Hunter Stubbs, Avery Knowles and Jordan Duplissie.  Destinee Goodridge, Kaden DeMerchant, and Jack Doody all had some great defensive moves.

Team Galaxy played very well against a solid Red Bulls team. Team passing and communication was great and the members of the Galaxy team left all of their effort on the field.

Barcelona vs. Chelsea

Colby Bonville scored the lone goal for team Barcelona, assisted by Riley Cavagnaro. Austin Findlen and Tiernan Barbosa had many offensive opportunities. Benoit Levesque, Brooke Haney and Ben Lagasse all played exceptional defense.  

Chelsea played a strong game with the Krul sisters each scoring goals. Kaylyn Krul hooked up with Kyle Boucher to find the net and Kassie connected with Jacob Soucy for her goal. Spencer Soucy played very good defense.

Man U vs. Real Madrid

In close game against Manchester United, Real Madrid came up just short. Goals were scored by Dagan Savage, which came on an assist from Owen Martin, and Alex Bouchard, on an assist from Brennan Poitras. Tia Cyr, Emily Austin and Peyton Lindsey made strong contributions on both ends in a solid effort.  

Man U goals were scored by Parker Deprey, assisted by Hayden Hunter, and Riley McNeal.

Man U vs. Barcelona

Manchester United and Barcelona was a one-goal game with lots of action on the field. Barcelona’s Tiernan Barbosa scored a goal in the second half. Kimmie Susi had a great game offensively. Barcelona’s entire team played awesome defense.  

Man U’s Dominic Barretto, Elsie Patton, Monique Nadeau and Riley McNeal played great defense.

Chelsea vs. Real Madrid

Real Madrid goals were scored by Brennan Poitras, on an assist from Abby Caron, and Dagan Savage, assisted by Cullin Caverhill. Madison Stratton and Emily Monohan were solid on the defensive end while Poitras, Owen Martin and Dan Liu all played well in goal to keep Chelsea off the board despite many good scoring opportunities.  

Chelsea held their own for a good part of the game with a solid defensive performance from Brandon Belanger, Alexis Bruso, Alya Theriault and Aiden Plante.
