Michael K. Milton, 65, of South Portland, Maine died September 14, 2012 after a short, yet courageous battle with cancer.
Mike was born March 8, 1947 in Caribou, Maine and graduated from Caribou High School in 1965. After completing his freshman year of college, Mike enlisted in the United States Army to serve his great country in Vietnam. After completing his tour as an infantryman in the Mekong Delta, Mike returned to Caribou , to be with his family and friends. In 1981 he married Hallie Anderson, creating a family with their daughter Maryanne.
Mike enjoyed watching highschool sports, especially a good state basketball championship or college tournament, as he always said that “the kids played with the most heart.” He spent hours of his free time working on different home improvement projects or enjoying the many beautiful landmarks of the Portland area. He took great pleasure in dinners with his wife, games with his daughter and killing an afternoon at the park with his grandsons. Mike had a lifelong love for the game of baseball, the state of Maine and his country.
Mike leaves behind his wife Hallie, daughter Maryanne, son-in–law and friend, Todd and the two greatest joys of his entire life, his grandsons, Eric (EJ) and Sam Aldrich. He is also survived by many close family and friends: Including three sisters, Ruth & Ted Pierson, Barbara & Steve Scott, Lynn & Gary See and a brother-in-law Jack O’Dea; remarkable nieces and nephews, John & Melissa O’Dea, Robert & Adria O’Dea, Jackie & David Smallwood, Mike & Melissa Scott, Meghnn & Katherine Scott, Danielle & Marciel Bones, Taylor See and a very special goddaughter Devon See. Also a lifelong and great friend, Phil Savage.
He is predeceased by his parents Edith (Knowlton) and Keith H. Milton and his daughter Rebecca Catherine Milton.
