Officiating clinics
Board 150 of the International Association of Approved Basketball Officials will hold an officiating school for new officials beginning Oct. 1 at Presque Isle High School.
Classes are Mondays from 7-9 p.m. and the fee is $40. Call 425-4451 for more information.
UMFK to host road race
The University of Maine at Fort Kent athletic department will host a five-kilometer road race Sunday, Sept. 16 at the UMFK Sports Center. The event is being held in conjuction with the university’s homecoming and the community’s Scarecrow Festival.
The race will begin at 9 a.m., with registration getting under way at 8 a.m. The fee is $20, with proceeds benefiting the athletic department.
