Area business people jumped feet first into a team-building exercise in August, quite literally.
Joe and Leanne Lapierre of Limestone, who manage a regional ViSalus sales team, headed over to the Zip Zag zipline in Grand Falls, N.B. to take a team-building jump with some of their Canadian ViSalus promoters as well as Caribou ViSalus promoter Jennifer Poitras.
“We’re trying to show people that [ViSalus] is more than milkshakes,” said Joe LaPierre. “We call it our ‘Vi Family’ because it’s so much more than just drinking filling milkshakes; its about building fulfilling relationships.”
For Lapierre, the unique camaraderie exercise experience took on an additional satisfying facet.
Lapierre and one of his promoters weren’t elegible to participate in such an experience before because, as LaPierre explained, “we were too fat.”
“With ViSalus, we were both below the weight restriction and able to do it now,” he said.
In his 11 months of participation in the ViSalus program, Lapierre has lost 53 pounds.
Lapierre owns a successful business in Limestone called Boulevard Graphix, which he opened in 2008.
For almost a year, Boulevard Graphix has served as the storefront to purchase ViSalus products.
Joe and Leanne have been participating in the Body by Vi challenge for 11 months as well as selling products; they currently have 97 active promoters below them.
Similar to the iconic pink cars that are awarded to top-selling Mary Kay cosmetics salespeople, Joe, Leanne and 10 other Aroostook ViSalus distributors below them have earned free BMW’s.
“Two more are on the verge of getting a car, hopefully if not this month, than the next,” Joe explained. “They’re really close right now.”
To qualify for a BMW, LaPierre explained that an individual needs to have $12,500 in sales for a month with three promoters underneath them.
