The Caribou golf team opened with a win last Tuesday before falling in its latest match held two days later.

The Vikings gained a nine-stroke victory over Fort Kent to begin the season. Ali Prescott of the Warriors was the medalist with a 45, while Caribou was paced by Dayne Savage’s 49. Cory Rideout posted a 52, Donovan Savage a 53 and Connor Thibeault a 57 for the winners.

On Thursday, Presque Isle defeated the Vikes, 175-208. Wildcat teammates Karson Eaton and Adam Flynn shared medalist honors with 42s in the match held at Presque Isle Country Club.

For Caribou, both Dayne and Donovan Savage carded 50s, while Thibeault had a 52 and Rideout a 56.

The Central Aroostook Panthers hosted Fort Fairfield last Wednesday at Mars Hill Country Club, with the Tigers winning by a score of 188-218.

Robbie Watson was the medalist and had a 45, while Brandon Clark had a 45 to lead the Tigers. Teammate Tyler Churchill carded a 49.

On Thursday, the Tigers hosted and defeated both Ashland and Hodgdon at Aroostook Valley Country Club.

Mark Corella of the Hornets had the low round of the day with a 45.

Fort was led by Noah Bernard’s 38 and Watson’s 39.
