Yvonne M. Beaulieu

BEAULIEU, Yvonne M., 87, WATERVILLE & PRESQUE ISLE, at Waterville, August 30, 2012. Arrangements are in the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, Presque Isle.

WATERVILLE & PRESQUE ISLE – Yvonne M. Beaulieu, 87, passed away suddenly on August 30, 2012, at Inland Hospital in Waterville with her loving daughter, Tyline Forbes and son, Todd Beaulieu at her side while her other children Bryon, Patricia and Stephen were in route from Oregon, California and Tennessee. She was born in Washburn Oct.17, 1924, the daughter of Frank T. and Madeline (Brown) Lavway.
Known by her family, friends, neighbors and doctors galore – from the east coast to the west for her mouth-watering ‘whoopie pies’, crème puffs and banana bread, Yvonne wasn’t happy unless she was tempting you with her scrumptious goodies.
She expressed her love for cooking through the many dinner parties, Harvard luncheons, or political events. Her time spent cooking gave her endless hours of stories to share with her family. From the Dukes and Duchesses of Wales to the senators of Massachusetts, to baby showers and graduations – an event was never too small or too large – she put the same amount of passion and love into every event she catered.
Her days were filled with either looking for that next recipe to put in her cookbook – “The Crossroads of Cooking – from HOMEMADE to GOURMET, the endless hours of reading novels or the painstaking love she put into every stitch making quilts for her granddaughters by hand. “If anyone were to ask you to describe Bonnie, one could say ‘She put the spit in spitfire.’ Shared Carla Hammerstad of Tacoma, WA. “Bonnie was like a second mother to me. I first met her when my husband and I were stationed at Loring Air Force Base back in the mid 1960’s.”
Yvonne is survived by her six children, 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren – all who loved and adored their ‘Nana’! Her remaining siblings are her brothers, Laurence Lavway and his wife, Gertrude of Bear, Delaware, and John Lavway and his wife, Rose of Washburn; and sister, Elizabeth Umphrey and her husband, Jasper of Washburn.
She was pre-deceased by her daughter, Doris Carrier of Mesa, AZ; two brothers, Harold Lavway of Mapleton, Clair Lavway of Washburn; and her sister, Alice  Kenney of Kingston, Tennessee.
There was a private service on Monday for the family at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home in Presque Isle. A graveside service was held at noon Tuesday. Sept. 4, 2012. at Hillside Cemetery in Crouseville, with Rev. Otto Palmer officiating. Online condolences may be expressed at duncan-graves.com
