Water District office moves

WASHBURN — Residents of Washburn wishing to pay their water bills will have to do so at a new address, following the Washburn Water & Sewer District’s recent move.
“Effective Sept. 1, the Washburn Water & Sewer District will move the business office from 1259A Main St., where it is currently located, to the water plant located at 22 Hilt St.,” said Matt Palmer, director of operations.
Hilt Street is located off Church Street, east of the New Dunn Town Road intersection.
The same services will be offered, just in a different office, said Palmer.
‘You will be able to pay your bills, ask questions and conduct all your water and sewer business at this location,” said Palmer.
Office hours will remain the same: Monday, 12-30-3:30 p.m.; Tuesday, 8:30-11:30 a.m.; Wednesday, closed; Thursday, 12:30-3:30 p.m.; Friday, 8:30-11:30 a.m.; closed Saturday and Sunday. A drop box will also be available for after-hour payments.
The phone and fax number remain 455-1042.
“For after-hours emergencies or if you need an appointment, call 554-7138,” said Palmer.
