Gardiner Health Care Facility has been providing Long term Care Nursing services to the local community for 60 years!
In 1952, Agnes Folsom opened the doors to the facility on Leonard Street and later moved to our present location on Holland Street. There have been many changes along the years but the same family values of quality and comfort still ring true today. Gardiner Health Care Facility has carried on this reputation due to the commitment of our dedicated staff, including some individuals working for Gardiner’s for over 40 years. Agnes Folsom was the back bone of Gardiner’s for many years. Agnes was known for her dedication and commitment to the residents and her work ethic was unmatched! Staff who currently work at Gardiner’s remember Agnes with fond memories and continue to fulfill their day to day duties with that same mindset that Agnes instilled.
Gardiner Health Care Facility still provides the same quality long-term care nursing services but it goes much further than that. We are providing Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitative care. Gardiner’s has a full therapy team on site to meet the rehabilitative needs of our patients. Amie McPartland PT, born and raised in Houlton, is our Rehab Manager and Deb Ballou, is our Occupational Therapist. They work together to improve the quality of life of our nursing home Residents and for our skilled patients, their goal is to attain their independence and return back home. Gardiner’s Skilled Nursing has expanded their services to include IV treatments along with 24-hour nursing care. We also provide Residential Level of care to those individuals who need just that little extra care when not able to remain at home.
