DEVLIN, Dawn M., 83, of Caribou, on May 16, 2012. A memorial service will be held in Renton, WA on September 12, 2012.


AR Dawn DevlinDawn M. Devlin left this world to be with her Lord and Savior on May 16, 2012, surrounded by her immediate family. She was born Dawn Marie Trusty at Cary Memorial Hospital in Caribou, Maine, on March 11, 1929, to George and Yvonne Michaud Trusty. She grew up in Caribou and attended grades 1-8 at Holy Rosary Catholic School and graduated from Caribou High School in 1946. She was a contestant in the competition for Potato Blossom Queen her Junior year. She graduated from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Portland, Maine in 1949.

She worked at Cary Memorial Hospital in various positions including surgery and the nursery, until she married Walter Gerard (Jerry) Devlin from Uniontown, Pa., an Air Force pilot stationed at Presque Isle, Maine, in September 1955. After Jerry left the Air Force, jobs took them to Rochester, N.Y., then to Seattle, Wa., where he worked at Boeing Aircraft Company in Renton, Wa. They adopted two children, Paul and Anne Devlin. After Jerry’s death in 1970, she returned to her nursing career to support the family. She worked at West Seattle General Hospital, then at Valley Medical Hospital in Renton, retiring in 2001.  She moved to Kalispell, Montana near her sister, enjoying retirement until medical problems decided her to return to Seattle, Washington to be near family and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by both parents, husband Jerry, brothers George and Terry Trusty of Caribou, Me., sister-in-law Florence, brothers-in-law Robert Devlin (Bob) of Baton Rouge, La., James Devlin (Jim), sister-in-law Mary Devlin (Jim’s wife) of Houston, Tx., and various aunts and uncles. Surviving relatives are: an aunt, Irene Michaud Gast; children, Paul Devlin and Anne Devlin; grandchildren, Ryan Devlin, Jennifer Devlin; sister, Mary June Trusty Haffner (Ross); cousins, Justine (Francis) LeVasseur, Betty (Dale) Fowler, Paul (Shirley) Michaud, William (Marge) Michaud, Beverly (Phil) McNeal, sister-in-law, Dr. Miriam Devlin, member of the Franciscan Missionary Sisters, Immaculate Conception (Patterson, N.J.) of Bucksfort, Me., and various nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held in Renton, Wa. on Sept. 12, 2012.
