The Northern Maine Antique Tractor Club will be holding their annual Memorial Tractor Trek on Sunday, Aug. 26. Registration is at 8:30 a.m., with the trek start time at 9 a.m. The trek will begin in Westfield, traveling to Easton, and then on to Route 1A and will stop at McCrum’s Facility in Mars Hill for a tour. The group will then continue on Route 1A south down by Mars Hill Mountain. There will be a coffee break and lunch stops along the 47-mile route.
Donations received from this year’s trek will be given to Hospice of Aroostook and the new “House of Comfort” Hospice House Project in Central Aroostook.
With a donation of $25 in memory of a loved one, their name will be placed on a memory board that will be mounted on the body of an antique farm truck that will be the lead vehicle for the trek. Call Jane Bartlett, trek chairperson, at 538-9297 by Aug. 15 if you wish to make a donation in memory of a loved one.
Persons wishing to drive an antique tractor in the trek must be a member of the Northern Maine Antique Tractor Club for insurance purposes. Memberships will be accepted the day of the event.
