PRESQUE ISLE — The Northern Maine Antique Tractor Club will be holding its annual Memorial Tractor Trek Sunday, Aug. 26. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., with the trek starting at 9 a.m.

The trek will begin in Westfield, travel to Easton, and then on to Route 1A and will stop at McCrum’s Facility in Mars Hill for a tour. The group will then continue on Route 1A south down by Mars Hill Mountain. There will be a coffee break and lunch stops along the 47-mile route.

Donations received from this year’s trek will be given to Hospice of Aroostook and the new “House of Comfort” Hospice House Project in central Aroostook.

With a $25 donation in memory of a loved one, their name will be placed on a memory board that will be mounted on the body of an antique farm truck that will be the lead vehicle for the trek. Please contact Jane Bartlett, trek chair, at 538-9297 by Aug. 15 to make a donation.

For insurance purposes, people wishing to drive an antique tractor in the trek must be a member of the Northern Maine Antique Tractor Club. Memberships will be accepted the day of the event or before by calling secretary Cheryl Boulier at 768-6911.

Established in 2008, the Northern Maine Antique Tractor Club is a family-oriented organization focused on the preservation of the region’s rural heritage and restoration of the “old tractors,” equipment and related items that were used in the farming industry by past generations.
