Minor League

    In game one of the Minor League season Key Bank edged out Katahdin Trust, 3-2. Key Bank’s Noah Flynn had a double and a triple and collected a pair of RBIs, with teammates Holden Stoutamyer, Ethan St. Jean, Riley Roderick and Connor DeMerchant all adding singles to the offensive barrage.

    For Katahdin Trust, Ricky Goupille was unstoppable by going 4 for 4 with two doubles, a triple and a single. Austin Pictou added two singles.

    Defensively, Stoutamyer, Nate Willette and Jacob Smith all made great plays for their teams.

    County Federal Credit Union hosted Key Bank to start week two and CFCU came out on top with a 6-2 victory. Chance Bragan led the way for the winners with two doubles and a triple, while Mason and Zack Fletcher both had doubles and two RBIs. Joe Bolstridge and Alex Graves both had hits and RBIs to keep their team on top.

    Key Bank’s Connor DeMerchant had a monster day by going 4 for 5 and Tyler Turner pounded a double.  The defensive star was Riley Roderick, who caught the whole game.

    CFCU downed Katahdin Trust, 15-11, and Austin Prescott led the charge with a double, while Mason Fletcher had 2 RBIs and Cody Barnes, Bragan and Zack Fletcher all added an RBI each.

    Goupille led Katahdin Trust with a double and RBI. Nate Willette added 2 RBIs and Jude Mosher chipped in with an RBI single.

    In the final game of the week, Key Bank posted a 4-0 shutout win over Norstate. Key’s top contributors were Stoutamyer, who went 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs, and DeMerchant, who went 4 for 5 with an RBI. Lance Garcia added two hits and Tyler Turner cranked a double. Jaden MacDonald, Noah Flynn and Ethan St. Jean all singled in the win.

    NorState was led by Colby Buckley with three hits and Austin Thibeault with two hits. Defensively, Ryder Wight and Brandon Poitras made great plays in the field.

Major League

    In the first week of play for the Major Leaguers, two tight games were battled out. The Elks came out on top over the Kiwanis, 7-6. For the Elks, Jonah Hudson had a two-run, walk-off single to score Andrew Hewitt, who had doubled, and Isaac Madore, who singled. Chandler Paradis led the attack for Kiwanis with two doubles and two RBIs.

    In the second game of the week, Kiwanis and Rotary went head to head and the Kiwanis prevailed, 5-4. Kiwanis’s Jack Beaulieu, Griffen Guerrette and Chandler Paradis all had doubles in the winning effort.

    Adam and Cole Paterson added the offensive power for Rotary, along with Cole Paterson making a fantastic double play in support of Will Bridges and Jaren Winger on the hill.

Pony League

    In Pony League action, Cushman’s and Rod Brewer Design showcased their talents in the season opener.  Cristian Nunez picked up the win by pitching 3-2/3 innings and allowing only four hits and adding a double to help his own cause.

    Chase Norton led the bats for RBD by going 1 for 3 with 3 RBIs. Gavin Kelley chipped in with two hits and 2 RBIs.

    Cushman’s was led by Kyle Beaulieu, who went 3 for 3 with a triple and 2 RBIs and Cooper Madore, who added a double.

    In the second game of the week, RBD stopped Washburn, 8-2. Sam Gray started on the mound for RBD and pitched three solid innings, giving up one run and recording seven strikeouts. Chase Norton picked up where Gray left off, striking out six through two innings. Andrew Paterson struck out three batters to pick up the save.

    Nick Bartlett led the offensive attack for RBD as he went 4 for 4 with 3 RBIs, including a triple. Kelley did his part by driving in the other five runs.
