GREY, Marjorie L. (Searway), 79, ALBERTVILLE, AL & ASHLAND, ME, at Albertville, AL, June 19, 2012. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Thursday, July 26, at the Advent Christian Church of Ashland.

    ALBERTVILLE, AL & ASHLAND, ME – Marjorie L. (Searway) Grey, 79, passed away June 19, 2012, in Albertville, AL. She was born on August 15, 1932, to Walter and Ada (Orcutt) Searway of Ashland.
    Marjorie graduated from Ashland Community High School in 1950 then attended Aroostook Normal School in Presque Isle. She taught school for several years in Oxbow & Masardis. After teaching school, she pursued a career as a telephone operator for New England Telephone Company in Presque Isle, later transferring to Framingham and Worcester, MA, where she continued her career for AT&T until she retired. After her retirement, she returned to Maine where she continued to be very active in her community. In her later years, she moved to Zephyrhills, FL, before moving to Albertville, AL, to be near her brother.
    In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, William Grey; brothers, Hazen and Nelson Searway; and a sister, Barbara Sahlin.
    She is survived by her brother, Albert (Bub) Searway and his wife, Joyce of Guntersville, AL; a sister, Janis MacDonald and husband, Albert of Ashland; brother-in-law, Edward Sahlin; and sister-in-law, Eleanor Searway. Also step-children, Denny Grey, Janet Collins, Judi Smith, and their children, Jill, Scott, David and Danny all of MA. She also leaves behind several  nieces and nephews.
    A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Thursday, July 26, at the Advent Christian Church of Ashland, with Pastor Harris officiating. A time of fellowship and refreshments will follow after the service at the church.
