Huston, Charlie Richard, 86, of Woodland, on July 5, 2012. Arrangements are in the care of the Mockler Funeral Home, Caribou.
Woodland – Charlie Richard Huston, 86 left his earthly life to be with his Lord July 5, 2012, at his Woodland residence with his family by his side. He was born at the old family homestead April 1, 1926, the son of the late Perley and Blanche (Borden) Huston. Charlie grew up and worked on the farm until he was 16, at which time he worked for S.W. Collins in the woods as a cookie. He then worked for A&P Tea Company in the potato house for ten years, during the winter months and farmed with his father during the summer. After special training and mentoring, he became a surveyor and this opened a whole new world for him and his family. Charlie served at the Public Works as director for the City of Caribou for over 33 years. He truly enjoyed his job and his accomplishments on behalf of the city. He was noted for his independent thinking and will be fondly remembered as a jack of all trades. He was a recycler long before most even thought about it. Charlie built his home with his own two hands and the help of his wife of over 49 years, Lorraine (Gagnon) Huston.
Lorraine died in their home as did Charlie. They had six healthy well-loved children, Nancy Hersey and her husband, Robert of Woodland, Allen Huston and his wife, Nena of Hermon, Raymond Huston and his wife, Patty of Plymouth, Thomas Huston and his wife, Cindy of Woodland, Sandi Pickens and her husband, Charles of Fairfield, CA., and Stanley Huston and his wife, Mary of Caribou; grandchildren, Nicole Farley, Sherri Parker, Lori Albair, Kelly and Shawn Huston, Brohn Morin, Chris and Tony Huston, Connie Anderson, Jamie, Adam, and Sara Huston; great-grandchildren, Bobby and Andy Farley, Alexis and Kay-lee Parker, Ethan and Landon Albair, Delanie and Alexis Huston, Charlotte Morin, Gwen, Luke and Blake Anderson.
For over ten years, Charlie was also blessed with a second love in his life, Dorothy Bouchard of Woodland.
He is also survived by his brothers, Floyd Huston and his wife, Glenice of Bangor, Bob Huston of Washburn; a brother-in-law, Allen Cline of Waterloo, N.Y.; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Huston was predeceased by a sister, Janice Cline.
