    PRESQUE ISLE — New varsity coaches for golf, softball and cheering at Presque Isle High School have been announced by Mark White, athletic administrator for SAD 1.
    Carl Flynn SP-FlynnCarl-dc-sh-26 is the new golf coach. A physician at Cary Medical Center and Pines Health Center, Flynn has coached the Wildcats’ varsity hockey team for seven years. His teams have qualified for the playoffs every year and he was named Eastern Maine Class B coach of the year in 2009.
    He replaces James York, who had coached the golf team for six years and guided the Wildcats to a third-place finish in the 2012 Class B state championship.

    Terry Cummings SP-CummingsT-dc-shpt-25 will coach the softball team in 2013. Also the current boys varsity basketball coach at the school, Cummings has prior experience in the sport as the head coach at the University of Maine at Presque Isle for three seasons. He is employed by SAD 1.
    Alan Curtis, who coached the team the past 11 seasons, has retired as a teacher and coach at the school.
    The new cheering coach for the fall and winter is Jenna Bradstreet. A 2004 PIHS and 2008 UMPI graduate, Bradstreet served as the JV coach the past four seasons. Her teams have won three Penobscot Valley Conference JV championships. She also coached at Presque Isle Middle School two years prior to becoming the JV coach.
    Bradstreet, who works as a customer service representative at MMG Insurance in Presque Isle, replaces Jolene Kinney, who had coached the team for four years.
