Miss Molly

fs-molly-dcx-ar-27Halfway Home Pet Rescue volunteers said that Miss Molly, now five-weeks old, was rescued by Linda Fortin near an abandoned trailer park on the Access Highway and brought to a Halfway Home Pet Rescue Foster Home when she was just three weeks old. Volunteers said that a dog was eagerly digging his way under the skirting of a trailer to get at the hiding kitten, who they speculate had wandered away from her feral mother and could not return because the dog had, in the meantime, been tied outside the trailer. Linda and her niece distracted the dog and rescued Miss Molly. By the time the kitten was brought to the shelter, volunteers say she had already learned to hiss and spit at humans, “but within two weeks of bottle feeding, Molly decided that humans were not so bad after all,” said HHPR President Norma Milton.  Molly will be available for adoption in about three and a half weeks. HHPR will be holding an Adult Cat Adoption Fair at Ouellette’s Variety on Sweden St., as well as a showing of Toby’s Treasures Gift items on each Saturday afternoon from noon until 3 p.m. “Each Saturday, seven beautiful and loving adult cats will be available for adoption with all medical items completed including spay and neutering for a special adoption fee of $25,” Milton said. Halfway Home Pet Rescue is a non-profit, Maine licensed pet rescue and all donations are tax exempt. Their mailing address is PO Box 488, Caribou, ME 04736, adoptable cats can also be seen by special appointment by calling Norma at 492-1722.
