Washburn Rotary Club
to host truck pulls this weekend

On Saturday, July 7, the Washburn Rotary Club will host truck pulls at the Northern Maine Fairgrounds in Presque Isle. Gates will open at 3:30 p.m., with registration starting at 4 p.m. and the pulls getting under way at 6 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults, and $5 for children ages 13 and under.
This is a major fundraiser for the group, but comes with many expenses. The Rotary Club appreciates the donations received from area businesses and individuals. The club has decided to donate this year’s proceeds from the night’s 50/50 draw to the Washburn District High School track and field and cross country teams for uniform warm-up sets. Please help us make this a successful evening for all!
August Festival
This year’s August Festival will be held Aug. 16-19. The next committee meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 11 at the Civic Center. All are welcome; more volunteers would make for an even better August Fest!
