PT Opal CraneHOULTON – Opal Maxine (Adams) Crane, 87, went to be with her Lord and Savior June 23, 2012, surrounded by her family at her daughter’s home in Houlton. She was born June 11, 1925, in Linneus, to LeRoy and Beatrice (McDunnah) Adams.
She married her childhood sweetheart, Darrell S. Crane, June 11, 1947. They lived and raised their family across the road from Opal’s homestead. Mom always cared for her family and enjoyed being a wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She enjoyed cooking everything from scratch, going whenever a vehicle was going to leave the yard, and playing board games with family and special “daughter,” Sandi Petro on Friday nights. She was a member of Gideon International Auxiliary for many years and The Fruit of the Spirits Ministries Church, Linneus.
She is survived by her children, Linda McGuire and her fiance, Clifford Schumaker, of Waterville, Donna Izzo and her husband, Stephen, of Houlton and David Crane and his wife, Candace, of Linneus; grandchildren, in order of birth, Vincent McGuire II and his wife, Stephanie, of Augusta, Kathryn “Katie” Holmes and her husband, Christopher, of Houlton, Jennifer McGuire and her friend, Kevin Funk, of Lisbon, David Izzo and his friend, Jammie Kinney, of Houlton, Darrell McGuire of Fairfield, John McGuire and his fiancee, Melissa Gray, of Augusta and Christian Crane of Linneus; and great-grandchildren, Vincent III and Gabriella, Marley Joy and Blaze, Aarika, Christina and Emma, Arianna, Hanna, Maliyha, Joshua, Mayci and Jasmyn, and Issac. She was predeceased by her husband, Darrell, July 4, 2008.
For the many friends who have enriched our Mom’s life we say, “Thank you.” Also special thanks to the pastors of the church, the Rev. Bernie and Elaine Jordan, staff of Houlton Internal Medicine, especially Dr. Abouleish and Dr. Sussman; her niece, Lois, for her care giving and friendship; and the hospice team and Deacon Al for their support and expertise.
