    PRESQUE ISLE – Sandra E. “Sandy” Barnes, 68, passed away on Saturday night, June 16, 2012, at a Presque Isle hospital. She was born on May 14, 1944, in Portland, the daughter of Kenneth and Joyce (Leavitt) Bragan.
    Sandra graduated from Oakfield Community High School and then spent most of the remainder of her years in Presque Isle with her husband of 48 years, Gerry Barnes. She retired in 2010, after driving for many years for the Aroostook Regional Transportation System. She thoroughly enjoyed her work , co-workers, and clients served. Sandra enjoyed her pets, her flowers, and knitting and crocheting for her family and friends. Sandra will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
    Besides her husband of Presque Isle, she is survived by her brother Paul Bragan and his wife Kathy of Houlton, a brother-in-law Glen Barnes and his wife Lois of New Limerick, and their children Myra and Dereck and niece Amy; three nephews, Spencer Bragan and his wife Trisha of Presque Isle and their children Miranda and Chance, Sheldon  Bragan and his daughter Ryan of Burnham, Lloyd Bragan of Oakfield; many friends and neighbors including special friends Dave and Rhonda LaVoie of Presque Isle, and her much loved dogs, “Chia” and “Midget”.
    She was predeceased by her parents and younger sister Pauline Bragan.
    As per her wishes, there will be no services. A private interment will be held Thursday at Fairmount Cemetery, Presque Isle. Online condolences may be held at Duncan-graves.com
