     PORTAGE LAKE – Blanche Yelle, 80, died June 16, 2012, at a Presque Isle hospital. She was born at Fall River, Mass., June 19, 1931, the daughter of Napoleon and Malvina (Desmarais) Boucher.
    She had worked for many years at a medical supply manufacturing company in Massachusetts. Blanche and her husband relocated to Portage Lake 19 years ago. She was a life member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Unit 9699 of Ashland, a member of the Over 50 Club at Portage Lake, the Ashland Senior Citizens Club and the Red Hat Society.
    She is survived by her husband, Albert M. Yelle of Portage Lake; two daughters, Jeannine Babbitt, and Debrah Joyce and husband, Tony all of Marion, IN; one son, Richard Bryant and wife, Chris of Anderson, IN; one sister, Rose Ferreira of Tampa, FL; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
    She was predeceased by four sisters and two brothers.
    Relatives and friends may call at the Stimson-Ouellette Funeral Home, 114 Exchange St., Ashland, from 2 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, June 20. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 4 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. William Harris officiating. Interment will be at a later date at Portage Lake Municipal Cemetery.
