College planning workshops
The Maine Educational Opportunity Center will be hosting free workshops entitled Essentials of College Planning for adults 19 & over at the following times and locations: Presque Isle CareerCenter, 66 Spruce St, Ste. 1, on Wednesday, July 11, 18, & 25 at 9 a.m.; and at Houlton Higher Education Center, 18 Military St., on Thursday, July 12, 19, & 26 at 9 a.m.

PRESQUE ISLE — Burger King guests can help fight childhood cancers from May 28 through July 1 by donating $1 to the Jimmy Fund through the A Chance for Kids® program at participating restaurants in six New England states. With each contribution, restaurant guests will receive a promotion card guaranteed to be a winner, with prizes ranging from all-inclusive resort vacations and airline tickets, to theme park admissions and Burger King food.
Locally, the Presque Isle branch, at 795 Main St., will be participating.
Through the A Chance for Kids® program, more than 600 franchise and company-owned Burger King restaurants set a goal to raise $1.2 million for pediatric cancer research and care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

Farley joins Aroostook Technologies
PRESQUE ISLE — Aroostook Technologies Inc., located at 4 Airport Drive, has announced the addition of Nola Farley to the staff.
Effective May 1, Farley officially joined the company as sales and marketing manager, bringing with her years of experience in the telecommunications business. Having worked for U.S. Cellular and FairPoint Communications in the roles of sales and sales management for a combined 17 years, Farley comes to Aroostook Technologies with a strong sales, customer service and telecommunications background.
Farley has also been and continues to be an active member of the community. A sample of her involvement includes: past wish granter for the Make A Wish Foundation of Maine, past fund-raising chair of the Presque Isle Youth Hockey Association and past president of the Mapleton Daze Committee. Farley currently holds seats on the board of directors at ACAP, Wintergreen Arts Center where she serves as vice president, is the past president of the Central Aroostook Chamber of Commerce and is currently the chair of the Haunted Woods Walk.
In her new role as sales and marketing manager at Aroostook Technologies Inc., you will see Farley out and about in the community as she visits existing customers, introduces herself and the company to potential customers and will be active in showing her support, as well as the company’s, of the many organizations and events in the area.
