Adventure race draws 53 competitors
DANFORTH — Local athletes fared extremely well at The East Grand Adventure, which was held in Danforth on Saturday.
ADVENTURE RACE — Malcolm Milligan, front, and Henry Milligan of Ashland paddle on the Baskahegan Stream. The pair took second-place in the Jr/Sr. division during East Grand Adventure Race on Saturday in Danforth.
The 20-mile course, which included a 1.5-mile compass run, 10-miles of mountain biking, 8.5-miles of paddling and a few extra challenges along the way challenged the 53 participants.
The father/son team of Thomas and Dillon Beckum, of Caribou came in first place in the Jr./Sr. division and third overall with a time of 2:58:55
Henry and Malcolm Milligan of Ashland came in second in the Jr/Sr. division with a time of 2:59:37.
In the women’s division, Lauren Jacobs of Presque Isle and Tammi Matula of Weston came in first with a time of 3:07:50.
First in the men’s division were Dana Morrison and Eric Young of Weston with a time of 3:05:00. Second place went to Greg Palm of Presque Isle and Thomas Puzewski of Caribou with a time of 3:06:37.
