LIMESTONE — With 25 acts displaying all sorts of talent, the second annual Community Talent Show in Limestone has been officially deemed a success by organizers.

A total of 163 individuals attended the show and the proceeds will be used to help the Greater Limestone Chamber of Commerce orchestrate the town’s annual Fourth of July festivities. Recreation Department Director Amanda Brooker will present the grand total of funds raised to Chamber members during their next meeting on May 10.
There were 19 competing acts in the show’s six categories, with five special guest performers as well.
• Aimee Eivers, won the solo ages 4-8 competition for singing “Where are you Christmas?” a cappella, as sang by the character Cindy Lou Who in “The Grinch who Stole Christmas.” Judges Karralena Castaway, Rick Bragg, Brian Leighton, Beth Tilmont and Merry Bragg awarded her 327 points for her performance.
Following close behind was Kourtney West who earned 326 points for her baton twirling routine to “Yakety Yak” by The Coasters. In third place was Abigayle St. Peter, singing a cappella to “Rolling in the Deep” by Adele.

• Gunner Hatfield and Abagayle Mulherin won the duet ages 4-8 category for their sing-a-long to “Fishing in the Dark” by The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.
It was accidentally announced during the show that Hatfield and Mulherin had placed second, with Aiden and Bryce Dillon placing first. According to Brooker, Hatfield and Mulherin actually scored higher with 342 points, while Aiden and Bryce Dillon scored 338 points for their performance to “Country Man” by Luke Bryant, complete with back-up dancers.
• Kennedy Bencivenga points won the solo ages 9-13 group for her hip-hop dance to a mixed track. Bencivenga scored 369 to come in first — the highest amount of points the judges awarded all evening. Megan Everitt came in second with 357 points for her performance of “What Hurts the Most” by Rascall Flatts.
In third was Emily Everitt singing “Giddy on Up” by Laura Bell Bundy with 339 points. Angelina Campos came in fourth with 336 points, singing “What makes you Beautiful” by One Direction. Placing fifth was Isabella Ward, earning 301 points for singing “More than a Band” by Lemonade Mouth.
• The North Star Mini Marchers came in first place in the group ages 4-12 category, earning 325 points. Group members were Kourtney West, Angelina Campos, Sierra Beaulieu and Trinity St. Pierre performed a baton twirling routine to “You and Your Heart” by Jack Johnson.
Coming in a close second were the North Star Tiny Twirlers with 322 points for their pompom routing to “Dinosaur Dance” by FAB-5. Tiny Twirlers were Gwen Bragg, Abigayle St. Peter, Cadence Binnie, Abagayle Mulherin, Josey St. Peter, Charlotte McGreevy and Alexis King.
• Charity Eivers won the solo ages 14 and over category by singing “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri. The judges awarded her 348 points for her performance.
Placing second by a single point was Branwen Castaway Baker with 347 points for her a cappella vocals to “Sally’s Song” by Catherine O’Hara, as performed in “The Nightmare Before Christmas.” Rachel Olugbemi came in third with 335 points, performing” Invention in B Major” by Johann Bach. In fourth place was Jen Rand, singing “I Don’t Believe You” by Pink, scoring 324 points.

• Free Block was named the winner of the group ages 14 and over category; the a cappella group of the Maine School and Science and Mathematics came in first place with 361 points singing the song “Daylight” by Matt and Kim. The group members were Helen Roberts, Bethany Hartley, James Jelin, Trevor Quiggley, Paul Webster-Pact and Nate Kidson.
In second were the North Star Twirlers Seniors with 353 points. The group — Delaney Rossignol, Chelsea LaBreck, Freem Cyr and Emily St. Pierre — performed a dance routine to “Foot Loose” by Blake Sheldon. The Limestone Line Dancers came in third with 333 points, line dancing to “Rub It In” by Billy Crash Craddock.
Providing special entertainment for the talent show were Limestone’s many queens — Little Miss Limestone Sierra Beaulieu, Junior Miss Limestone Stephenie Bragg, Pre-Teen Miss Limestone Amelia Roy and Miss Teen Limestone Ellyzabeth Bencivenga.
Emily Michaud also performed a special dance number for the event, and Limestone’s Champion Destination ImagiNation Elementary School Team opened the event with the educational, informative and entertaining skit they’ll be performing later this month when they attend World Competition in Nashville, Tenn.
