State Senate President Kevin Raye (R-Eastport) was in Presque Isle yesterday to formally announce his campaign for the Second District seat in the U.S. House of Representatives, held by Congressman Michael Michaud (D-Medway) since 2003. Among those supporting the candidate during the Aroostook County GOP meeting held in the Northeastland Hotel ballroom were, from left, Rep. Joyce Fitzpatrick of Houlton, Rep. Michael Willette of Presque Isle, Raye, Sen. Roger Sherman of Hodgdon, Rep. Peter Edgecomb of Caribou, Rep. Bernard Ayotte of Caswell and Winfield Sawyer of Mapleton, who said he has voted in every election since 1944.
